UPDATE: On November 5, 2025, T-Mobile announced that its life-saving T-Satellite Text to 911 service is now offered absolutely free to anyone with a compatible smartphone, regardless of their wireless provider. This critical expansion, powered by Starlink, allows Verizon and AT&T customers to enroll for essential, off-grid emergency coverage in areas not reached by traditional cell towers.
Verizon and AT&T customers can enroll here.
T-Mobile officially launched T-Satellite on August 15, 2025, a satellite service for your cell phone that offers nationwide coverage in places you never thought possible. Your favorite national parks, mountain peaks, and backcountry trails now have dependable service you can count on.
Thanks to the Un-carrier’s partnership with Starlink, you can connect to T-Mobile virtually anywhere outdoors. Better yet, you don’t need to invest in a new phone since T-Satellite is compatible with most modern smartphones made within the past four years. Your device will automatically connect to satellite service where traditional signals can’t reach.
With beta testing completed, T-Stellite subscribers can stay connected in remote areas as long as they have a clear view of the sky. But only T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond customers, and existing Experience More and Go5G Next users, can enjoy satellite service for free. Experience More customers who enrolled in the beta have access for free till the end of the year, but will pay the cost after. Everyone else, including AT&T and Verizon customers, can add-on T-Satellite service for an extra $10/month—a limited time savings of $5/month.
Get coverage anywhere with T-Satellite

T-Mobile’s direct-to-cell satellite network offers coverage no matter where you go. Instead of relying on traditional cell towers for signal, T-Satellite uses hundreds of low-orbit satellites to expand T-Mobile’s service to places far from the grid on the ground.
T-Satellite currently supports SMS satellite texting for over 60 different Android and iOS devices, as well as MMS messaging for Android users. While both devices can send short texts, only Android enthusiasts can currently send images or audio clips with media messaging, a feature coming to iPhone soon.
Even more T-Satellite uses are coming soon
There are even more benefits on the horizon for T-Satellite subscribers. This October, T-Mobile will incorporate data usage to its satellite network. You’ll be able to use a few select apps like AccuWeather to check the daily weather forecast, or AllTrails to see where you are on the map.
How to use T-Satellite on your phone
You don’t need a satellite phone or special setup to use T-Mobile’s service either. Most modern smartphones made within the past four years can already connect to T-Satellite. Once you have the service, just use your smartphone as you normally would, and it will automatically connect to T-Satellite when it can’t connect to a nearby cell tower.
Dare to be more adventurous, but stay safe with T-Satellite. Since the service doesn’t depend on traditional cell towers, you won’t lose reception in dead zones while exploring the great outdoors. T-Satellite allows you to message family and friends, even send your location to emergency responders if you need help.
How do you get T-Mobile’s satellite coverage?
T-Satellite is included as a permanent perk in T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans at no extra cost, while new Experience More subscribers who missed the beta will pay the add-on fee.
Everyone else, including Verizon and AT&T customers, can add the service for an additional $10/month. Keep in mind that Verizon and AT&T users will need an unlocked phone to install a T-Mobile eSIM in order to connect to satellite service.
Switch to T-Mobile and start using T-Satellite now
The easiest way to access T-Satellite is by switching to one of T-Mobile’s Experience plans. Both Experience Beyond and Experience More currently include satellite service for free, but only Experience Beyond offers T-Satellite as a permanent plan perk. Experience More users will have to pay $10/month for the add-on.
T-Mobile’s Experience plan lineup offers more perks than what you’ll find on comparable plans from AT&T and Verizon. In addition to T-Satellite, both Experience plans include:
- Unlimited premium data
- Massive high-speed mobile hotspot data
- Free streaming subscriptions
- International roaming data
- In-flight Wi-Fi with partner airlines
Experience Beyond is ideal for data-heavy users who want the most out of their phone plan. It includes unlimited premium data that never slows, and an unbeatable mobile hotspot with 250GB of high-speed data. Customers also get complimentary subscriptions to Netflix, Apple TV+, and Hulu to stream the latest seasons of fan-favorite series and films.
On top of free access to T-Satellite to keep you connected everywhere in the U.S., travelers can take Experience Beyond abroad, too. With up to 15GB of high-speed international data included, you can connect overseas from more than 215 destinations. Last but not least, this plan is upgrade-ready every year. A single line of Experience Beyond costs $100/month or just $215/month for a family of four ($53.75 per line).
Experience More offers users the chance to try T-Satellite without committing to Experience Beyond. With unlimited premium data and a 60GB high-speed mobile hotspot allotment, the plan offers more than enough data for most users. Also included in the Experience More plan are free Netflix and Apple TV+ subscriptions, up to 5GB of high-speed international data for most countries, and a device upgrade every two years. Pricing starts at $85/month for a single line, but its best value is with a four-line family plan at just $170/month ($42.50 per line).
T-Satellite isn’t technically included in the Experience More plan. It’s available as a $10/month paid add-on for a limited time, eventually costing the full $15/month add-on cost.
