CenturyLink FAQs

CenturyLink offer internet, home phone and TV service (via DIRECTV) provider for residents and businesses.
CenturyLink's internet services are available in 36 states, including Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Colorado, Texas, and Florida. CenturyLink also have fiber internet services in 13 cities in the U.S., a number that will be growing over time.
CenturyLink offers speeds between 1.5Mbps and 1Gbps. Speeds available to you will depend on your location. Use our internet plan search tool to find which CenturyLink plans are offered in your area.
CenturyLink offers their customers high speed internet via DSL and fiber. DSL internet plans from CenturyLink are more widely available, while their fiber plans are currently very limited.
CenturyLink does not charge data overages. CenturyLink's internet plans come with a generous 1TB of data, and it is very rare to use this much data in a month as a resident. If, however, you do happen to go over your monthly data limit, CenturyLink will notify you of your data usage and give you options to help you reduce your data usage or switch to a different internet plan.
CenturyLink does not require their customers to sign a contract, however, if you do decide to enter into a contract instead of the provider's 3-Year Price Lock Guarantee you will be subject to fees should you cancel your service before you contract is up. You will be charged a pro-rated amount based on how much longer you have left on your contract.
You have the option to bring you own modem and router or you can rent one from CenturyLink for a low monthly fee. You can also buy a modem from CenturyLink if you don't want to lease one. Before you buy a modem (from elsewhere) make sure it's compatible with CenturyLink's internet service first.
You can choose to either install your CenturyLink internet yourself for free, or have a CenturyLink technician come out and install it for you. You will need to pay a fee for professional installation.
Yes! With CenturyLink, you have the option to bundle your internet with phone service and/or DIRECTV.

CenturyLink Customer Service & Reputation

A major pain-point for CenturyLink customers seems surrounded around billing or cancellation issues. To avoid issues yourself, get everything in writing and ensure that you're watching your bill closely each month.

Another issue you might find is that the service isn't working as expected. If you decide to go with CenturyLink, opt for professional installation to ensure that your service is satisfactory before you've committed to paying them. That way you can have them fix any issues you might face before you sign off on installation.

Why Choose CenturyLink?

CenturyLink offers their customers the power of choice. Not only can you choose between a wide range of speeds and services, but the installation fee is reasonable or free if you install it yourself.

On top of that, CenturyLink offers customers the choice between two connection types and "Price for Life" pricing without making you sign a contract.

CenturyLink's plans offer customers a wide range of speeds from 1.5Mbps all the way up to 1,000Mbps. Best of all, they offer bundles that include TV and or phone service as well.

Another great thing about CenturyLink's internet plans is their price lock guarantee. Many internet providers will increase your monthly fee after you've had service for a year, but CenturyLink will lock your pricing in, so you're not surprised by a huge internet bill after a year.
