Tracfone Coverage
Tracfone is a mobile virtual network operator, which means it provides service using another carrier's towers. With previous agreements to operate on all three U.S. wireless networks, Tracfone was purchased by Verizon 2021 and now operates solely on Big Red's 4G LTE and 5G networks. This is excellent news for Tracfone customers, as Verizon leads the pack in 4G LTE coverage, the primary connection technology throughout the country. The caveat: Verizon's (and therefore Tracfone's) 5G network lags behind both T-Mobile's and AT&T's, though where available, it provides significantly faster speeds. Switching to Tracfone
Switching to Tracfone is simple—you can even bring your own phone with you to the network as long as it is compatible. First, check your phone's compatibility using your EMEI number or pick out a new phone to purchase directly from Tracfone (hint: you can snag some exclusive phone deals when you switch to Tracfone!). Then select your preferred plan and enter your phone number, if you're bringing it with you to the network.
