Mint Mobile is one of the most popular mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). It offers great prices for plans on T-Mobile's 5G and 4G LTE networks. Reliable service makes Mint a great option for anybody looking to save money on their cell phone plan.
Our list of the best Mint Mobile plans is topped by its Unlimited Data plan, starting at just $30/month ($15/month for new customers). All of Mint's plans can qualify for a "best" category because of their cost-effective pricing, which provides access to the nation's best 5G network. Here's why we think each plan could be the best for you.
All plans include mobile hotspot usage at no extra cost, although data used while tethering comes from your total monthly data allowance.

Daphne knew she wanted a plan on the T-Mobile network, but chose a cheaper carrier. She said, "I switched to Mint Mobile after being a T-Mobile customer for 7 years. I was paying $75/month for T-Mobile’s top-tier unlimited plan and switching to Mint lowered my monthly phone bill by $45."

Mint Mobile Unlimited plan
Mint Mobile Unlimited is one of our favorite phone plans. It's currently available for just $15/month if you opt for the 12-month plan (normally $30/month). After that intro period, you can renew your plan at $40/month for a 3-month plan, $35/month for a 6-month plan, or $30/month for a 12-month plan.
I tested this specific plan for a little over a month. Whether I was streaming music, hopping on a video call, or just browsing, the connection was smooth, fast, and reliable. Read more in my detailed review of Mint Mobile.
With the Mint Unlimited Data plan, you'll get a relatively large monthly allotment of guaranteed full-speed data. You may experience deprioritization if you use more than 50GB of data per month. Even if you reach this limit, no worries; your speeds might slow down only during high-traffic times. Plus, you'll have access to the large T-Mobile 5G network (with a 5G-compatible phone).
- Pros: Low price for unlimited talk, text, and data, 20GB of mobile hotspot usage included
- Cons: Lacks entertainment perks, 480p video streaming, no dedicated hotspot allowance
Mint Mobile 15GB plan
Mint Mobile's 15GB plan normally costs just $20/month for the first three months. After the introductory period, renewal rates increase to $35/month for the 3-month package and $25/month for the 6-month package, while remaining at $20/month for the 12-month package.
With average mobile data usage at about 3–5GB per month, this 15GB plan best suits those using their phones a bit more than the average person. If you often stream Spotify in the car but aren't constantly perfecting your Fortnite skills, the 15GB plan could be great for you.

- Pros: Unlimited talk and text, $20/month starting price, 15GB of high-speed data
- Cons: No unlimited data, no dedicated mobile hotspot allocation
Mint Mobile 5GB plan: best for seniors and light data users
Mint's bite-sized 5GB data plan also has a bite-sized price: just $15/month for the first three months. After the introductory period, you can renew the 5GB Mint plan at the same rate for 12 months, at $20/month for six months, or $25/month for another three months.
The Mint Mobile 5GB plan is the smallest and cheapest of all Mint's plans. It's also one of the best Mint Mobile plans for seniors and low-data users who value reliable talk and text over a big monthly data allotment. The 5GB allowance should cover the basics: checking emails, scrolling social, and streaming the occasional video. Some months might be tight, though, and you may have to rely on Wi-Fi connections.
- Pros: Unlimited talk and text, extremely affordable, great fit for seniors and light users
- Cons: Only 5GB of data
Mint Mobile | 20GB plan
Okay, let's be honest: This used to be the go-to plan for heavy data users on Mint, but the introduction of the newer Unlimited plan has made it nearly obsolete. Consider, for example, that for some wild reason, the 3-month renewal rate for the 20GB is $45/month, which is actually more expensive than the 3-month renewal rate for the unlimited plan. In fact, with the 6-month renewal rate identical to the unlimited plan at $35/month, the 20GB is only cheaper in the introductory period and at the 12-month renewal rate. Even then, it's only $5/month cheaper.
This means that Mint's 20GB plan is only really best if you are a pretty heavy data user and you are set on staying with Mint for a long time while also saving just $5/month. Our recommendation: go with Unlimited.
- Pros: 15GB of monthly data, unlimited talk and text
- Cons: Data isn't unlimited
Mint Mobile family plans
With its affordable prices and access to T-Mobile's best-in-class 5G network, Mint Mobile is already a great deal. However, its Modern Family Plan makes Mint even more cost-effective and compelling. Normally, to enjoy Mint's lowest prices, you'll need to pre-pay for 12 months of service (after the initial three-month promo pricing expires).
However, Mint Mobile's Modern Family Plan lets you take advantage of the carrier's cheapest prices for lines 2-5 while pre-paying in three-month increments. For instance, a one-line Unlimited plan with Mint normally sets you back $40/month for three months or $120. But a family plan of two or more (maximum five) lines lowers that price to $30/line per month prepaid in three-month chunks. Since the size of your party and your specific data needs vary, it's tough to pick just one plan. Check out Mint's Modern Family Plan prices and decide what tier fits your needs.

Mint Mobile has recently introduced the Mint Kids plan, a way for parents to add their child to any of Mint’s affordable data plans and have greater control over their usage by designating it a kids plan in their account.
