Cricket Wireless offers a variety of cell phones, including the latest iPhones and Samsung Galaxy models. Although the carrier doesn’t offer payment plans (also known as equipment installment plans) there are still affordable options for the budget-conscious. Motorola, Alcatel, ZTE and LG cell phones are available for cheap, with some being free when you apply Cricket’s special plan and pricing.
To be eligible for discounted Cricket phones pricing, you either need to switch from another carrier and bring your phone number, upgrade to a new smartphone (if you’re an existing customer), or activate a new device line. You can only take advantage of this special service and pricing once every 90 days. If you buy or upgrade another cell phone from Cricket within 90 days, you’ll need to pay the full retail price.
Cricket’s discounted phone prices includes additional discounts for customers switching from another wireless carrier. In some cases, your cell phone may be completely free if you port your existing number to Cricket. However, if you are thinking of switching to Cricket, note that you won’t be eligible for the phone discounts if you’re switching from AT&T's network.
If you’re an existing Cricket customer and would like to upgrade your cell phone, you will need to pay a $25 fee on top of the price of the phone itself.
