The list of Google Fi phones isn't super long, but it's still pretty good. First, the most obvious cell phone that Google Fi offers is the Pixel range. First released in 2016, the first Google Pixel phone came out with the "best smartphone camera" at the time, in an attempt to rival the likes of Apple and Samsung.
Still going strong, Google have launched two other Pixel series since, aptly named the Google Pixel 2 (2017) and Google Pixel 3 (2018). Each Google phone promises to be better than its predecessor and better than its competitors.
Not all Google Pixel models are offered by Google Fi, but you can be sure that the newest models will be available. Released around October each year (at least so far) new Google Pixel phones become available for pre-order shortly after the launch event, then ship a week or two after that.
Google Pixels aside, Google Fi does offer some other phones from both Motorola and LG. Google Fi phones may be scarce, but the great thing about the carrier is that it's easy to bring your own phone. Whether you have a Samsung Galaxy phone or an iPhone, or any other brand, most will work with Google Fi.
The main benefit of buying a Google Fi phone, however, is that your plan will switch between the three networks used by Google Fi, choosing whichever signal is strongest at the time. If you bring your own phone to Google Fi, your plan will only use one network and you also won't be able to benefit from the Fi connect feature, which automatically connects you to WiFi hotspots.
Another benefit of buying a Google Fi phone is that they are often discounted or you may even get Google Fi credit when it buy it. You'll be able to use the Google Fi credit to pay for your cell phone service. If you already have a phone but want to buy a Google Fi phone, then just trade it in. Google Fi will give you service credit when you trade in an eligible phone. You can even choose to get your trade-in credit back as a credit card refund!
Whether you buy a new Google Fi phone or bring your own phone, you'll still be able to enjoy great service and coverage from Google Fi.
