Contacting a human at Verizon via phone


There is no way to call Verizon's customer service without getting a pre-recorded message. However, you can take these steps to get on the line with a human representative very fast.

  1. Call Verizon customer service at 800-922-0204 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  2. When prompted to state why you are calling, press "0." Or say "speak to agent."
  3. After being asked again to state the reason for your call, press "0" again. Or say "speak to agent" again.
  4. Wait for the system to connect you to a Verizon representative. 

For the fastest service, it's best to call from your Verizon phone. The system will recognize your number and have your information ready. However, customer service reps will still ask you to verify your identity.

My experience connecting with a live person

In my testing, this was the best way to contact a Verizon representative fast. When I put it to the test, I was able to skip the Verizon robot and get connected to a live agent in 1 minute and 51 seconds by pressing zero when prompted and 1 minute and 47 seconds by saying "speak to agent" when prompted.

Verizon claims that its online chat is the quickest way to get help.

Upon visiting the Verizon website, you may get a chat popup at the bottom right corner of the page. You can start the chat by clicking on the popup. If you do not get that option, you can go to the Verizon "Contact us" page and select the chat option. You may be required to sign in first. 

All chats start with a chatbot; however, once you have a chat window open, just type "human" into the chat, and the system will connect you to a human rep.

Starting a chat through the My Verizon app is another simple way to get in touch with a human. To do so, take these steps:

  1. Log in to the My Verizon app.
  2. Tap on the wheel above More.
  3. Select Contact us.
  4. Choose Chat with us.

  6. Type in "Human" in the chat that opens.
  7. Wait to be connected.

Believe it or not, Verizon retail stores are not run by robots. By visiting a store, you can speak face-to-face with an actual human Verizon associate. These Verizon representatives can help you with nearly anything regarding your account.
