Update: As of April 2025, the T-Mobile Go5G plans have been replaced by Experience More and Experience beyond. For further plan details, visit T-Mobile and compare their newest plans.
T-Mobile expanded its stable of phone plans when it introduced the Go5G plan lineup. The Go5G Plus and Go5G plans provide slight upgrades from T-Mobile's original Magenta MAX and Magenta plans (which are slowly being phased out for new customers). Both plans offer more premium data and, with Go5G Plus, T-Mobile is making it easier for customers to upgrade phones every two years while saving the most money.
We'll take a closer look at Go5G and Go5G Plus to help you determine if either plan is the right one for you.

T-Mobile Go5G Plus
The T-Mobile Go5G Plus plan starts at $90/month, making it the second-most expensive T-Mobile plan. That's just $5/month more than T-Mobile's original premium plan (Magenta MAX).
For that extra $5/month T-Mobile Go5G Plus gets you a whopping 50GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, and 15GB of high-speed roaming data in Mexico and Canada. To compare, Magenta MAX comes with 40GB of hotspot and 5GB of data to use in Mexico and Canada.
With Go5G Plus, you'll also get access to T-Mobile's "New in Two" program, which ensures that you can take advantage of the best T-Mobile phone deals every two years. Historically, the best deals have only been available to new customers switching from another carrier. This also breaks away from the trend of carriers tying you down with three-year finance plans. With Go5G Plus, device plans are limited to just 24 months.
Besides these three main differences, Go5G Plus looks a lot like Magenta MAX. Each comes with unlimited premium data (T-Mobile will not slow your speeds) and great perks like Netflix and Apple TV+ subscriptions.
Who is Go5G Plus for?
If you want the most that a T-Mobile plan can offer, and you don't care about price (lucky you), the Go5G Plus plan is the one for you. You'll especially be happy with Go5G Plus if hotspot data and roaming data in Mexico and Canada are important to you—no other T-Mobile plan gives you higher monthly allowances.
Go5G Plus is also best for anybody who looks forward to regularly upgrading their phone every two years with very few obstacles.
T-Mobile Go5G
T-Mobile Go5G is the carrier's popular mid-tier plan. Where Go5G Plus was comparable to Magenta MAX, Go5G is more like Magenta. At $75/month, Go5G is just $5 more expensive than Magenta. That extra $5 gets you 15GB of high-speed data and 10GB of roaming data to use in Mexico and Canada. Magenta includes 5GB of high-speed hotspot data and 5GB roaming data in Mexico and Canada.
Besides these differences, Go5G and Magenta look pretty much the same. Both include 100GB of premium data per month and six months of Apple TV+, among other similarities.
Who is Go5G for?
If you aren't looking to spend $85/month or $90/month but having a healthy amount of premium data is important to you, take a look at the Go5G plan. With 100GB of premium data, most users will never have to worry about facing slower speeds.
Is the extra $5/month worth having a little more hotspot data and Mexico/Canada roaming data than you can get with Magenta? That is entirely up to you. Though if these are very important to you, we think you might want to look into paying even more for either Magenta MAX or Go5G Plus.

T-Mobile Go5G plans: FAQs
Are Go5G and Go5G Plus replacing Magenta and Magenta MAX?
No. Go5G and Go5G Plus are not replacing the T-Mobile Magenta and Magenta MAX plans. T-Mobile is pushing new customers to sign up with a Go5G offering, but current Magenta customers can keep their older plans.
Are Go5G and Go5G Plus the only T-Mobile plans with 5G?
No. Despite being the only T-Mobile plans to feature "5G" in their names, they are not the only T-Mobile plans with 5G. In fact, all of T-Mobile's plans include 5G at no extra cost.
Should I upgrade to Go5G from Magenta?
If you want more hotspot data and more roaming data in Mexico and Canada, you should consider upgrading from Magenta to Go5G. However, keep in mind that you will be paying an extra $5/month.
