Jump! On Demand T-Mobile

Jump! On Demand has gone through a few ups and downs. The latest up comes from a quiet tweak made to a plan that never really ended.

Customers who are on the Jump! On Demand plan can now upgrade to a new device every 30 days.

This is different because the original JUMP! On Demand only allowed customers to switch up to 3 times per year.

You can read about the journey of this T-Mobile experiment in the links above or you can dive right in below. This plan actually changes the way we switch cell phones. If you don't like your phone, upgrade as soon as you can. This is especially useful if you can't afford to pay off your phone straightaway to get a new one. Read on to learn more.

How does this work?
  • First, sign up for T-Mobile (if you're not already a customer) and enter into an 18-month agreement. This agreement gives you  the option to upgrade every 30 days on JUMP!
  • There are fees, credit approvals, and the price of the device you want. T-Mobile is the owner of the device you upgrade to.
  • Current customers who are on another type of plan can switch over to JUMP! Just trade-in your old device when you sign up. Your newer device depends on the credit you get for your trade-in.
  • When you do trade in /upgrade your device every 30-days with JUMP!, your new device must be a different model or memory size. It's upgrading.
  • You can purchase this new device if you are ready to stop JUMP!ing and upgrading to the next best device. Just pay off any remaining payments.

Is it worth it?

Yes and no. This tweak to the JUMP! On Demand plan is a stellar idea for those folks who absolutely want the latest and newest device. The ability to upgrade every 30 days is actually a great thing for anyone who does cell phone reviews or really wants to try some device out before fully committing.

This could rub some people the wrong way. It might feel like a way to "lock" you into being a T-Mobile customer for quite some time as the idea of upgrading much sooner is enticing. You might feel trapped, like you'll never want to leave. When you upgrade, you're essentially signing a new lease with new terms. You don't own the device, T-Mobile does. Still, while you might feel "locked" into a contract, fear not. You can always cancel the lease, buy the phone outright, and leave T-Mobile entirely if you so choose.

With options to upgrade faster, however, you'd think twice before actually leaving this plan. Big fan of T-Mobile but not this plan? Here are more T-Mobile plans
