- T-Mobile's 5G earned top availability honors in OpenSignal's 5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards.
- The carrier's networks in both the continental United States and Puerto Rico received first place in their respective groups.
- T-Mobile was the lone U.S. carrier to appear in the top 20 for 5G Availability.
OpenSignal, the international mobile network analytics company, named T-Mobile's 5G availability as the best in the world in its 2024 5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards. T-Mobile's U.S. service finished first in the large land mass group. In addition, its Puerto Rico service finished first in the small land mass group.

OpenSignal scored carriers based on the amount of time its 5G users spend on the carrier's 5G network, awarding them scores out of 100. The higher the score, the more 5G access a carrier provides. T-Mobile's 67.4 score means users in the study were able to access 5G 67.4% of the time.
OpenSignal called that score "impressive," and for good reason: T-Mobile finished a full point ahead of Jio (India) and 16 points ahead of third-place finisher Vodafone (Australia). T-Mobile was the only U.S. carrier to crack the top 20.

The Puerto Rico network's score was even more impressive. That network finished with a score of 71.7, a little over 20 points ahead of second-place finisher M1 (Singapore).
We're not terribly surprised by the study's results. T-Mobile has the largest 5G network in the country, with a footprint that covers 51% of the nation. That's lightyears beyond its primary competitors AT&T, whose 5G covers 33.5%, and Verizon, whose 5G only covers 11%.
