Prepaid carrier Ting will be launching their cheapest cell phone plan yet on August 1, 2018.
Ting is joining other prepaid carriers, including FreedomPop and Unreal Mobile, in offering low cost cell phone plans for basic needs. For just $15/month, you'll be able make as many calls and send as many texts as you like on the carrier's new Unlimited Talk and Text Plan.
A key perk of Ting's unlimited talk and text plan is the ability to call 60+ countries at no additional cost. From Andorra to Venezuela, you can talk to your heart's content without having to worry about racking up big charges.
Note that the plan does not include data; that will cost you extra. As such, this plan is best suited to pure talk and texters—and judging by the plan's ongoing popularity, there are a lot of them out there.
Ting Coverage
Ting operates on the T-Mobile and Sprint nationwide networks, which deliver solid coverage in most places in the U.S. For more information, check out our breakdown of T-Mobile's coverage map. Also don't forget to punch your address into our cell phone plan comparison engine to get an exact picture of coverage where you live.
What Ting's About
Ting's model is based around allowing its users to pay for what they use. Ting is an excellent solution for talk and text, but not recommended for heavy data users due to its high cost. The carrier's relatively small size allows them to deliver personalized customer service, one reason so many people stay with Ting once they've signed up with them.
You can bring your own phone along with you for service on Ting, or choose one from their wide selection; Samsung, Apple, Motorola and LG are among the brands offered. Installment plans are available via Affirm.
