AT&T has announced the launch of Try AT&T for select eSIM iPhones. This program is a 30-day free trial of the AT&T network. It includes 5G access, 100GB of data, a 25GB hotspot, and an international texting perk. Customers testing AT&T's network can bring their own phone number and are not required to sign up with AT&T after the trial period.
Try AT&T is designed to compete with similar free network trials from Verizon and T-Mobile. Although these other carriers have offered trials for years, AT&T is seeking to gain the upper hand by offering a larger mobile hotspot feature.
What comes with Try AT&T?
Try AT&T comes with 30 days of access to the AT&T 4G LTE and 5G networks.
The trial plan includes:
- Unlimited talk & text
- 100 GB of data
- 25GB personal hotspot data
- Unlimited text from the U.S. to more than 230 countries
How do I join Try AT&T?
To join the Try AT&T free trial, you'll need an eligible device that is unlocked from your current carrier. You can check out our smartphone unlocking guide for step-by-step instructions.
Currently, Try AT&T is only available with eSIM-compatible iPhones. That includes all devices from the iPhone XR (released in 2018) to the new iPhone 16 series. Androids are scheduled to get access to Try AT&T in 2025.
To join, download the myAT&T app or go to att.com/freetrial. From there, you'll create an account and test your phone's compatibility. There is no credit check or credit card required. The 30-day trial really is free. If your phone is compatible, you'll download the eSIM and activate your trial for service.
