US Mobile 001 Membership: Fast facts

  • US Mobile just announced a new premium membership program called 001
  • The carrier claims this is not just a new plan, but an exclusive program covering the entire wireless experience with features like yearly device upgrades, uncapped premium data, multi-network roaming, and a dedicated customer support line.
  • The program's waitlist is open now and doesn't require a down payment, but the final pricing is currently unknown.
  • The 001 Membership will offer features similar to top plans from major carriers, like T-Mobile's Experience Beyond plan, which starts at $100/month.

US Mobile just announced a new premium membership program on the r/USMobile subreddit. Called the 001 Membership, the carrier claims this new offering goes beyond a traditional phone plan to become an all-encompassing wireless experience. Some of its most noteworthy features are:

  • Uncapped premium data on all three major networks
  • A new flagship phone from Apple, Samsung, or your preferred company every year
  • 100GB of premium high-speed data
  • Free Multi-Network add-on
  • Multi-Network coverage while abroad
  • Dedicated customer support phone line

Pricing is currently unknown, but US Mobile did confirm it wouldn't be cheap. Customers should expect it will be more expensive than the carrier's current top plan—Unlimited Premium—which starts at $44/month.

While the program isn't officially out yet and has no public release date, interested customers can join a waitlist to get first access. If you're interested in the 001 Membership, be sure to sign up fast. US Mobile stated that waitlist spots are limited, and it's not clear if more will open up once it's full.

Read on for more information on the 001 Membership and whether it's worth signing up for.

What is the 001 Membership?

The 001 Membership is a premium program for US Mobile customers. It will offer an enhanced suite of perks that are not available with Unlimited Premium, the current top US Mobile plan. The carrier claims that this is not merely a plan, but is instead a collection of features that will meet all your mobile needs, from top coverage maps to mobile data to the newest devices.

The full program is expected to offer:

  • Uncapped premium data on all three major networks
  • A new flagship phone from Apple, Samsung, or your preferred company every year
  • 100GB of premium high-speed data
  • Free Multi-Network add-on
  • Multi-network coverage while abroad
  • Dedicated customer support phone line
  • Global device protection
  • Automatic enrollment in Project Citadel, US Mobile's security suite
  • Early access to deal drops and upcoming features
  • A special 001 Reddit tag for the r/USMobile subreddit

US Mobile is one of the first MVNOs to offer a plan of this caliber. Its main competitors in this space are major carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, not other prepaid carriers.

Is the 001 Membership worth it?

Since we don't know the pricing yet, it's too early to say if the 001 Membership will be worth it. That said, if you need these kinds of premium features in a phone plan, this will likely be the cheapest way to get them.

T-Mobile's Experience Beyond plan offers similar features—like unlimited premium data and yearly phone upgrades—for $100/month. Verizon and AT&T offer early upgrade options with their postpaid plans for a monthly fee or once your current device has met certain conditions. US Mobile's 001 Membership will likely be cheaper than these other options.

You should also note that US Mobile still hasn't explained how all the features will work. Yearly upgrades are typically tied to postpaid installment plans. As a prepaid carrier, it's not clear if US Mobile plans to switch to a postpaid model for this program. Additionally, we still don't have any information on new security features like Project Citadel, and it's not clear if there's a mobile hotspot allotment included.

Should I sign up for the 001 Membership waitlist?

If you're interested in the 001 Membership, I recommend signing up for the waitlist since it's free

I've reviewed US Mobile extensively, and it remains one of my favorite carriers, so I've already joined the waitlist. You aren't locked into anything by signing up and can always pull out if you're unimpressed with the pricing or features when more details are released.

However, keep in mind that US Mobile also has a history of making big promises that take time to play out. For example, I beta tested the Dark Star network in 2024 before its public release. While I was impressed with the speeds, the network itself was plagued with issues for months after its launch, such as iPhones being unable to send group text messages with Androids. Even if you're impressed with the 001 program, as a new product, it may take time for all the features to be ready.

Should I switch to US Mobile?

The new 001 Membership will only appeal to customers who use a ton of data and want fancy perks like yearly device upgrades. It will be expensive, so if you're interested in saving money, you should avoid it.

The good news is that US Mobile also has plenty of prepaid phone plans that can help you save. Even better, they're already available, so you can switch today. US Mobile is one of the only carriers with access to all three major networks, so it's a great choice for all customers.

The Unlimited Starter plan offers unlimited premium data on the Dark Star (AT&T) network and a 20GB mobile hotspot for $25/month.
