US Mobile's warp international roaming: Fast facts
- US Mobile is enhancing its Warp network's international roaming feature to include more countries.
- Currently only available in Mexico and Canada, the expanded Warp network is reported to offer access in at least a dozen additional countries.
- Customers on US Mobile's Warp network should automatically receive the new roaming features if their plan includes international data.
US Mobile has announced an expansion to the Warp network that will increase the number of countries included in its international roaming feature. Warp—US Mobile's network with Verizon coverage—currently only offers true international roaming for Canada and Mexico.
Customers using the Warp network on either of US Mobile's top unlimited plans—Unlimited Starter and Unlimited Premium—should receive this update automatically.
According to statements made by US Mobile reps on r/USMobile, the carrier is planning to release these updated features in the next two weeks. That said, the project was originally slated for launch in late January and has already been delayed once. It's possible another delay could push the launch even further into February. US Mobile customers who need international roaming should stay on the Light Speed or Dark Star networks until the new plan features are confirmed.
What is US Mobile's Warp network?
The Warp network is the carrier's nickname for its Verizon 4G LTE and 5G coverage. US Mobile is one of the few MVNOs with access to all three major networks. Customers can pick any network when they sign up for a plan and switch among them using the TelePort feature. To round out the other offerings, Dark Star is the AT&T network and Light Speed is the T-Mobile network.
How are the Warp network's international perks changing?
Plans operating on US Mobile's Warp network include the same amount of international roaming data as plans using the carrier's other networks. However, up until now, Warp customers could only use their roaming perks in Canada or Mexico. With US Mobile's plan to expand international roaming to other countries, plans operating on the Warp network will offer a better value to customers and be more competitive with the plans operating on the Light Speed and Dark Star networks.
According to reps on the US Mobile subreddit, customers can expect these changes to go into effect in February.
What plans will receive the Warp upgrade?
All of US Mobile's plans on the Warp network will receive the new coverage options. However, only the Unlimited Starter and Unlimited Premium plans include international roaming as a standard feature. Customers on other plans—such as a By the Gig plan—will still receive access if they purchase a separate roaming add-on.
How do US Mobile's international perks work?
US Mobile is unique among MVNOs because it offers a generous international roaming feature with its two main unlimited plans. Unfortunately, what many customers don't realize is the international perks are not standard across networks. Which network you choose during sign-up determines what countries you have roaming data in.
The Dark Star (AT&T) and Light Speed (T-Mobile) networks currently offer the best international roaming options. Dark Star offers up to 10GB of international data in 34 countries, with many more offering 5GB. Light Speed offers up to 5GB of international data in over 180 countries.
The Warp network has historically been US Mobile's weakest international option. It only offered 10GB of roaming data in Mexico and Canada. To get coverage in other locations, you could purchase an international eSIM through US Mobile. The updates to the Warp network should make it a more appealing option for customers who need both Verizon coverage and international roaming options.

Is US Mobile's international roaming good?
US Mobile offers better international roaming than many MVNOs since data is included as a standard plan feature. I've even tested the Unlimited Starter plan in Aruba while using the Light Speed network and had a great experience. That said, until US Mobile's Warp updates are fully implemented, customers needing international roaming should stick to Dark Star or Light Speed.
If you're interested in US Mobile's international features, your best experience will come with the Unlimited Premium plan. It includes up to 10GB of international data, along with 100GB of premium data and a 50GB mobile hotspot for domestic use. The Unlimited Starter plan also offers international data, but it's not a great choice for frequent travelers since it's limited to 1GB annually.
