Mint Mobile is one of our favorite mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), offering T-Mobile coverage at affordable prices, and its newfound family plans further sweeten the deal.
Traditionally, Mint's best pricing required a 12-month prepayment, but multi-line discounts let you enjoy affordability with friends and family. Now with Mint's Modern Family Plan, customers with two to five lines only need to prepay for 3 months to enjoy the best pricing.

The ultra-popular Mint Mobile provides four different phone plans: 5GB, 15GB, 20GB, and unlimited monthly data plans. All tiers get you unlimited talk and text with up to 5G speeds on T-Mobile's network. Typically, a three-month introductory period gets you Mint Mobile's lowest prices, after which you'd need to sign up for a full year for that low price to remain in effect.
Unlike many family plan discounts, this Mint Mobile Modern Family Plan multi-line deal scores the lowest prices by offering that same introductory pricing for multiple lines, regardless of your plan term. Customers no longer need to pay for an entire 12 months upfront—only three. That way, families (or friends!) can benefit from great savings. This deal applies to family plans with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 lines.
Mix and match your plans
The other great part of Mint's new Modern Family plan? You don't have to apply the same plan to all of the lines on your account! So if one family member loves to stream the day away, but another barely uses their phone outside of the occasional Instagram scroll, you can sign up for Mint's unlimited plan for Person #1, and perhaps their 5GB plan for Person #2, rather than having to pony up for unlimited data on all lines. You can also mix in kids phone plans with Mint Kids, an additional line management option within your Mint family plan which gives parents control over all communications and data amounts for younger family members' lines.
How to sign up for Mint's Modern Family plan
Existing customers can opt into Mint's Modern Family plan under the Account Management tab on the website or in the Mint Mobile app. To sign up, simply head over to Mint Mobile's website. Then, enter how many lines you need (between two and five). After that, select plans for each line. Pick the same plans across the board or mix and match.
Mint Mobile phones and plans
Mint Mobile offers four prepaid plan options ranging from 5GB to unlimited high-speed data. After the introductory offer, you've got the option to renew for another 3, 6, or 12 months.
Switching to Mint Mobile
Switching to Mint Mobile is pretty simple. Just sign up for a Mint Mobile account and wait for your Mint SIM card to arrive. If you want to keep your current phone number, request a port when signing up but don't cancel service with your current carrier until the switch goes through. Once your number gets ported over, start enjoying your Mint Mobile service.
Best Mint Mobile phones
Like many MVNOs, Mint Mobile features a bevy of mobile phones for purchase. Its cell phones include many of the latest Android and iOS devices like the Apple iPhone 14 series or Samsung Galaxy handsets. Alternatively, you can bring your own phone to Mint Mobile.
