T-Mobile reveals Visa rewards credit card
- T-Mobile's $5/month per line AutoPay discount now includes credit cards—but only T-Mobile's new Visa is eligible.
- Earn 5% cash back when you purchase new devices, and 2% cash back on everything else, including your phone bill.
- T-Mobile's Visa card has no annual fee, and all rewards are applied directly to your T-Mobile bill.
- Only T-Mobile postpaid customers can sign up for T-Mobile's new card.
T-Mobile has officially unveiled its new T-Mobile Visa card backed by Capital One. A cell phone carrier credit card, like the new T-Mobile Visa, helps customers save on their monthly cell phone bill with discounts and rewards.
The card’s primary benefit is allowing customers to restore their valuable $5/month AutoPay discount while continuing to pay with a credit card. On top of that, it pays you back for device upgrades and accessories. This card offers loyal customers a chance to save on their service and new devices.
T-Mobile is actually the last of the major carriers to launch a rewards card. Verizon and AT&T have long offered their own co-branded Visa cards, providing similar models of bill discounts, device financing, and elevated rewards on carrier spending. T-Mobile is finally offering its customers a similar way to save.
T-Mobile credit card rewards and perks
The T-Mobile Visa will be the only credit card that qualifies for T-Mobile's $5/month AutoPay discount for each line. With up to 8 eligible lines per account, customers can save up to $40/month, or $480 each year.
Currently, T-Mobile customers qualify for the AutoPay discount by using a debit card or bank information. But if you don't feel comfortable sharing your financial details, the T-Mobile Visa is an excellent option for added security. Plus, you rack up rewards that can help you save on your monthly bill.
Other perks T-Mobile customers can enjoy are:
- 5% back on T-Mobile device purchases (phones, tablets, accessories)
- 2% back on all other purchases, including your monthly phone bill
- T-Life app integration to manage your balance alongside your phone plan
What about phone protection and insurance?
When T-Mobile removed the AutoPay discount for standard credit cards, many customers switched to alternative payment methods. By doing so, customers maintained the $5/ 5/month discount, but lost the ability to use their other card benefits—like cell phone protection and insurance.
The T-Mobile Visa may offer this benefit, but make sure to read the fine print before signing up.
How much can you actually save?
T-Mobile customers can save each month depending on how many lines are on their plan:
- A T-Mobile customer can save at least $ 5/month with a single-line plan, totaling $60 each year.
- On a 4-line plan, you save $20/month, or $240 per year from the discount alone.
- An 8-line account saves $40/month with the AutoPay discount, or $480 per year.
You also earn rewards on your spending, including: 2% back on your monthly bill and 5% on T-Mobile purchases like new devices. For customers who lost their discount by switching to debit, this card provides a way to regain those savings while keeping a credit card's security and benefits.
What happened to T-Mobile's AutoPay discount?
In October 2025, T-Mobile removed the $5/line AutoPay discount for customers using standard credit cards, limiting it to debit cards and direct bank account payments.
T-Mobile essentially forced customers to forfeit the monthly savings or lose the security and benefits of their credit cards (including fraud protection, rewards points, and cell phone insurance). Credit cards offer a crucial layer of protection against data breaches in today's digital landscape.
Who should apply?
You should apply for the T-Mobile Visa card if you:
- Currently have a T-Mobile postpaid plan
- Want to save $5/month perline with T-Mobile's AutoPay discount without switching to a debit card or bank account
- Have multiple lines, where the monthly discount adds up to significant savings
- Frequently upgrade devices so you can use the 5% rewards rate on new phone purchases
