Cheap plans starting at $10/month
- Excellent coverage via AT&T and T-Mobile
- Extremely low prices for unlimited
- No overage charges
Good2Go is a no-frills prepaid MVNO carrier that runs on both AT&T's and T-Mobile's national cellular networks. The carrier prides itself on making things simple—there's no app to interface with, no phone payment plans, and data plans are feature-free. You simply pick a plan and/or phone, wait for the free SIM card, and activate your service... then you're Good2Go! (Sorry, we had to.)
Good2Go's plans offer unlimited talk and text, and your data is *technically* unlimited, too—though the amount of high-speed 4G LTE data you can get tops out at 20GB per month. So are Good2Go's cheap prices—we're talking $10-45/month—worth ditching your current carrier for? We'll help you figure that out.
Is Good2Go Mobile for you? Pros and cons
If you're looking for a cheap, no-frills plan with just a smidge of data along with reliable coverage, Good2Go Mobile is a solid choice. Those who use their phones more regularly to surf, stream, and play games may be better served by another carrier.

Good2Go Mobile Plans
Good2Go sells six core data plans, all of which include unlimited talk and text, plus a single talk-and-text-only option. The talk-and-text plan costs $10/month with AutoPay, with plan prices topping at $45/month with AutoPay for their 20GB high-speed data plan. Should you choose not to opt for AutoPay (if, for example, you want to pay for each month as you go), the plan prices are each $5/month more.

| Talk and Text | $10 | $15 | See plan details |
| 1GB | $15 | $20 | See plan details |
| 2GB | $20 | $25 | See plan details |
| 3GB | $25 | $30 | See plan details |

One thing missing from Good2Go's lineup: An unlimited high-speed data plan. It's an important distinction because all of their data plans are technically unlimited—however, once you reach your designated high-speed allotment, your data speeds will drop from 4G LTE or 5G down to 2G... which is a pretty big difference. The good thing is that you'll never get slapped with overage charges for surpassing your high-speed data limit, and you can purchase more high-speed data at any time during the month.

What we like: Reliable coverage
Good2Go Mobile benefits from coverage on not one, but two of the nation's major carriers. With access to both T-Mobile and AT&T's networks, you can rest assured that no matter which network you get, you'll enjoy broad, reliable coverage and up to 5G speeds where available. Better yet, you don't have to do any research to figure out which network you should opt for—Good2Go automatically pops you onto the network that has the most robust coverage in your area when you sign up. How easy is that?
What we like: Cheap + varied data plans
As more and more carriers opt for the "unlimited everything" approach, Good2Go Mobile provides an attractive alternative for those who simply don't spend much time or activity on their cell phones. With smaller data packages, you can tailor your plan and your budget to pay for only the amount of high-speed data you'll actually use—and if you find that you need more, you can top off at any point throughout the month. (Remember, too, that you still have data access even if you run out of your high-speed allotment... it will just be a significantly slower experience.)
What we like: Flexibility
One of the biggest benefits of a prepaid carrier is the ease with which you can switch up your plan. Don't need as much data as you thought you did? Jump down to a smaller plan before you renew for the next month. Finding yourself using your phone more than usual? Upgrade your plan at any time. Need just a little more high-speed data this month? Add a few gigs as necessary. You can also customize the way you pay for your prepaid plan, too—pay month-to-month for full control, or set it and forget it with AutoPay so that it renews each month (like a postpaid plan does). And as outlined in the pricing table above, AutoPay also nabs you a $5/month discount on your plan price!
What could be improved: No perks or inclusions
Carriers nowadays make their phone plans competitive by offering inclusions like free streaming subscriptions, in-flight cell service and Wi-Fi, cloud storage, and more. Not so with Good2Go. If you want to call friends in Mexico and Canada, for example, you'll have to pay extra for it in the form of an add-on plan. We'd like to see Good2Go minimally add Mexico/Canada calling as an included perk, since many of its prepaid competitors have already boarded that train.
What could be improved: No unlimited high-speed data
Pretty much all of Good2Go Mobile's competitors offer at least one high-speed unlimited plan with a higher deprioritization threshold than 20GB, which is the most high-speed data that Good2Go offers—and all of the major carriers offer one "truly" unlimited plan with no deprioritization at all. Since the carrier already gives customers unlimited data access even when their high-speed allowance runs out, it's not a far leap to accommodate high-usage customers that still want a no-frills plan without also having to monitor their usage so that they don't get hit with the dreaded end-of-month slowdown to 2G speeds.
What could be improved: No hotspot
Sadly, Good2Go mobile doesn't offer hotspot allotments on its plans—in fact, the carrier doesn't support hotspot access at all, even if you'd simply be drawing from your plan's overall data allowance. This has become a basic inclusion on pretty much all phone plans nowadays, so it's a major gap in Good2Go's competitive value. If you like the security of knowing you'll always have a reliable way to connect your devices to the internet should you be without Wi-Fi, you'll want to opt for a different carrier.
Good2Go Mobile Coverage
One of the key upsides of going with Good2Go Mobile is the great coverage it gives you access to. The carrier offers coverage via two of the three major U.S. mobile networks, AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T's network is ranked #2 in the country for 4G LTE coverage, while T-Mobile's 5G network coverage reigns supreme. Because 4G is still the dominant network type nationwide, here's how 4G LTE networks break down numerically between the majors:
When choosing a plan, Good2Go Mobile will use your zip code to determine the best network to connect you to. So while you don't get access to both AT&T's and T-Mobile's networks simultaneously, the carrier does its diligence to ensure you're getting the best coverage available in your area.
Take a look at the carrier coverage maps below to get an idea of which network is strongest where you live.
Good2Go Mobile: Our firsthand experience
Two of our colleagues here at WhistleOut had the opportunity to try out Good2Go for ourselves, and here's what they thought:
"Setup was easy as anything. My number took about 10 minutes to port across and be active. I did have to contact Good2Go to get the APN settings for my data connection to work; they texted me a link, which automatically uploaded everything.
"Coverage has been predictably excellent wherever I've been—fast, even. I wish it was easier to monitor data usage on the go—there's no app, so you have to log into the Good2Go website to check—but this probably isn't a dealbreaker for most people.
"I'd recommend Good2Go to people who a) don't use a lot of data, and b) are OK with a no-frills experience. The lack of an unlimited plan and customer experience features may be a turn-off for some. However, others will be thrilled to score an affordable plan on an excellent network!"
Good2Go Mobile vs. Competitors
To help you see whether Good2Go Mobile is the right carrier for you, it's helpful to see how it stacks up against both its supporting carriers and fellow prepaid MVNOs. First, let's compare Good2Go Mobile to the two major networks it operates on: T-Mobile and AT&T.
Good2Go Mobile vs. AT&T and T-Mobile
It likely won't surprise you that the two major carriers win out on most fronts—both T-Mobile and AT&T provide full-speed 4G LTE coverage on all of their plans, including a plan each that has unlimited premium data (that means no data deprioritization threshold at all), plus fast mobile hotspot allowances and entertainment perks. Even each carrier's prepaid plans compare favorably to Good2Go Mobile, with their limited-data prepaid plans still including Mexico/Canada calling, hotspot access, and at least one unlimited data option.
However, Good2Go Mobile still wins out in one area: Price. All of Good2Go's plans are significantly cheaper than any plan from AT&T or T-Mobile, either prepaid or postpaid. So if your singular concern is budget, Good2Go Mobile will get you the coverage you want for the price you'd prefer.
Good2Go Mobile vs. other MVNOs
Though the major carriers have reigned supreme for a good long while, many smaller carriers have slowly but surely become seriously competitive, offering some of our favorite phone plans on the market.
To see how Good2Go Mobile stacks up against a few of the best prepaid carriers like Visible, Mint Mobile, and US Mobile, let's compare each carrier's top-tier plan offering, each of which happens to be at a similar price point.
| Good2Go Mobile 20GB plan | Mint Mobile Unlimited plan | Visible+ Unlimited plan |
US Mobile Unlimited Premium | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5G access | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Deprioritization threshold | 20GB | 50GB | 50GB | 100GB |
| Hotspot | N/A | 20GB | Unlimited (3G speeds) |
50GB |
| Perks | N/A | N/A | Unlimited Mexico/Canada talk, text, and data Unlimited intn'l texting (200+ locations) 500 intn'l calling minutes (30+ locations) |
20GB intn'l data Multi-line discounts Entertainment perk w/ 3+ lines |
| $45/month | $30/month | $45/month | $44/month |
Good2Go Mobile vs. Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile's unlimited plan is the closest to Good2Go Mobile's top-tier 20GB plan. Both carriers offer coverage on T-Mobile's network, though Good2Go has the added benefit of AT&T coverage as well. Both plans are relatively bare bones in terms of high-profile inclusions—there are no added streaming perks, and their high-speed data allowances are closer to one another than the other competitors' plans (20GB for Good2Go, 50GB for Mint Mobile).
That's where the similarities end. After you use that 50GB on Mint's plan (which is 15GB more than Good2Go provides), your speeds will slow down to 4G LTE speeds; with Good2Go, you'll slow down to a crawl at 2G speeds. Mint Mobile also gives you a nice little 20GB hotspot allowance plus free international calling to Mexico and Canada... all for $15/month cheaper than Good2Go Mobile, even with its AutoPay discount.
Mint's pricing structure is a bit different—the carrier sells its plans in 3-, 6-, and 12-month blocks. So you will need to pay more up-front—a drawback for those that prefer the flexibility of Good2Go Mobile's month-to-month approach. But even if you choose to re-up in just 3-month increments with Mint Mobile, the renewal price ($30/month) is still cheaper than Good2Go's plan at the AutoPay discount rate. Plus, if you opt for Mint's 12-month option for their Unlimited plan, you will only pay $15/month ($180 up-front) which makes the price gap even wider.
Bottom line: Mint offers more value at a better price, while Good2Go offers month-to-month flexibility.

- Option of 2 networks
- Flexible month-to-month payments
- AutoPay discount
- Less value at a higher price

- Same T-Mobile 4G/5G network
- 20GB hotspot + Mexico/Canada calling
- More high-speed data for cheaper
- Can't pay month-to-month
Good2Go Mobile vs. Visible
Compared to Good2Go's six core data plans, Visible only offers two plans, but each includes unlimited talk, text, and data. Its premium Visible+ plan clocks in at the same $45/month price point as Good2Go's 20GB plan, and is actually $5/month cheaper if you opt out of the latter's AutoPay discount.
For that price, Visible's plan is superior in nearly every way. Firstly, you have access to Verizon's best-in-class 4G LTE network—which consistently beats out both AT&T and T-Mobile for breadth and reliability—plus its 5G Ultra-Wideband network, which delivers the fastest 5G speeds available. You'll also get a massive 50GB high-speed data allowance, compared to 20GB on Good2Go's plan, and unlimited hotspot access, albeit at a max speed of 5Mbps—still, that's better than no access at all through Good2Go. And the international benefits with Visible+ are pretty darn good—unlimited talk and text to/from Mexico and Canada plus unlimited data roaming while traveling in those countries, with unlimited texting to another 200+ destinations and up to 500 free calling minutes each month to over 30 locations. With Good2Go, on the other hand, international calling is $5/month extra with an international add-on or charged at each country's calling rate.
Good2Go wins out in overall pricing options—the cheapest plan from Visible is $25/month, so those looking for cheaper phone plans can find more varied options with Good2Go. And those customers who are assigned to the T-Mobile network have access to the broadest 5G network in the country, if not the fastest one. But dollar for dollar, you'll get a lot more value with either of Visible's phone plans.

- More plan option variety
- Broadest 5G coverage
- No hotspot access
- International calling is extra

- Best 4G LTE coverage
- 50GB high-speed data
- Mexico/Canada talk, text and data included
- Hotspot speeds limited to 5Mbps
Good2Go Mobile vs. US Mobile
US Mobile offers customers access to AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, so its customers have more options than Good2Go. US Mobile's top-tier Unlimited Premium plan comes in close to the same monthly cost as Good2Go's 20GB plan (again, with the AutoPay discount factored in with Good2Go). And boy, do you get a ton of value for that price.
Unlimited Premium includes the most premium data from any prepaid carrier—a whopping 100GB of high-speed data before any threat of deprioritization. This puts it on par with the "truly" unlimited plans from the three major carriers, as most folks won't come near this amount of data usage in a month (unless you often tether your phone to work remotely, for instance). You'll also get a massive 50GB of hotspot data and up to 20GB of high-speed data to use while traveling abroad (compared to none of either allowance with Good2Go). That international data can be used in over 180 different countries and you'll also get 500-1,000 texts and 500-1,000 international minutes (depending on your destination).
Also setting US Mobile apart are its entertainment perks, available to customers who add three or more lines to their plan. You can choose one perk from options including subscriptions to Audible, Max, Netflix, Spotify, and more. Good2Go Mobile doesn't offer a family plan structure (more on this below) or any entertainment perks—but since solo customers or couples with US Mobile wouldn't have access to this perk, either, we'll call this particular battle a draw. Overall, though, US Mobile offers significantly more bang for your buck.

- Two network options
- Affordable for unlimited
- No hotspot
- No international benefits
- No multi-line discounts

- Three network options
- 100GB guaranteed high-speed data
- Multi-line perks
- 50GB hotspot data
- Perks limited to family plans
Good2Go Mobile Family Plans
If you're looking to save with a Good2Go family plan, you may want to look elsewhere. Good2Go doesn't offer family plans in the traditional sense, where you can bundle lines together with a nice discount for each line, or choose a single plan and share that data across multiple lines. Each line gets its own separate plan and must be paid for separately, too—though you may be able to manage multiple plan payments within the same account log-in.

Good2Go Mobile Cell Phones
Good2Go gives users the option of bringing along their own compatible device or buying one from the carrier directly. Be prepared to pony up some money upfront if you buy a device from Good2Go—the carrier doesn't offer installment plans for them.
Good2Go sells a number of refurbished iPhones, including newer models like the iPhone SE (second gen) and the iPhone 12. The carrier guarantees a battery life of at least 80% on all of its refurbished and re-sold devices, so you'll still have plenty of life left in your new phone. Don't love it once you receive it? Send it back within 14 days for a full refund.
Android aficionados may be disappointed—currently, Good2Go doesn't offer Android devices for sale, like the Samsung Galaxy series or A-series. However, as long as your current Android phone is GSM-compatible, you can bring it with you and activate it on Good2Go's network.
Looking for a snazzy new device?
Good2Go only sells refurbished phones—but that doesn't mean you can't find a sweet phone deal on a brand-new handset! Budget carriers like Visible and Mint Mobile have some of the latest devices for sale, and you can often get a few hundred off of the sticker price when you switch carriers. Here are some of the most popular phones on the market from prepaid carriers like Good2Go.
Bringing your own device to Good2Go
As long as your device is unlocked and compatible with Good2Go's network, you can switch and keep your current phone and number (or get a new number, if you choose to). Good2Go is a GSM carrier, so switching from another GSM carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile is easy as pie, while switching from a Verizon-backed CDMA carrier may depend on how new your device is. Most newer phones have been designed to accommodate any network technology, but older devices may be out of luck. You can check your phone's compatibility right on Good2Go's website.
When you switch to Good2Go, you may need to update your phone's APN settings. This is easy to do—simply head to your phone's Settings menu, find your Network settings, and either opt to update your settings to the current carrier settings (for iPhones) or find and choose Good2Go in the Access Point Names list (for Android phones).
Recap: Is Good2Go Mobile Right for You?
Good2Go Mobile offers great coverage backed by two major U.S. networks, along with pay-as-you-go flexibility that gives you control over how much data you want in a given month. It's a great option for those who are on a tighter budget and don't use a lot of data, as Good2Go's lower-data plans offer more comparative value than its larger-gigabyte options. You'll avoid paying extra for frills you don't necessarily want or need.
Here's what you get by signing up with Good2Go Mobile:
- A variety of limited high-speed data plans
- Access to one of two great networks (T-Mobile or AT&T)
- A free SIM kit
- Unlimited talk and text on all plans
- No data overage charges
If you do use more than, say, 6GB of data in a month, you're likely better served by a competitor like Mint Mobile or Visible, as you'll get a lot more bang for your buck purchasing larger data packages or unlimited plans from either of those carriers for the same comparative prices as Good2Go charges. Similarly, if you frequently call or text internationally, or use your phone as a hotspot, you'll want to explore other options.
If Good2Go's approach fits the bill for you, check out the Good2Go plans below to get started.
