This incredible offer is essentially a buy-one-get-one deal that scores you a year of service at half price—and it’s compatible with some of the most popular phones on the market.

How Does Mint 6-for-6 Work?

The Mint Mobile 6-for-6 Deal is pretty straightforward. New customers who purchase an eligible smartphone and select a 12-month data plan get a 50% discount on their plan. For example, let’s say you want Mint’s Unlimited Plan with unlimited talk, text, and data on T-Mobile’s incredibly fast network. Instead of paying $360 for a year of service, you pay only $180. As it impacts your wallet, you’ll pay the normal price for 6 months and then get 6 months for free.

There are some requirements you need to meet to get the 6-for-6 Deal:

You must be a new customer. Current customers aren’t eligible.
You must port in your old phone number from your previous carrier

Each plan is available as a 3-, 6-, or 12-month block. The total cost is determined by a monthly price, but Mint is unique among prepaid carriers in that the entire balance of your plan is due at the time of purchase. There is no monthly phone bill through Mint Mobile.

While paying for blocks of service may seem initially more expensive, it allows you to save money. The longer your plan lasts, the cheaper its monthly price is. After introductory pricing ends, Mint’s 3-month Unlimited Plan costs $40/month. A year of service with that plan would cost $480 overall. The 12-month Unlimited Plan is only $30/month, which comes to a one-time payment of $360. Remember, those same 12-month plans are also eligible for the 6-for-6 Deal, which scores you even more savings.

Mint Mobile Phones

Like with most MVNOs, you must pay for your device outright at the time of purchase. However, Mint does offer phone financing through Affirm, so you can pay for the device in monthly installments. Affirm can charge interest, so your device might be more expensive overall. But it’s still a great option for customers who need a new phone but can’t afford such a large initial payment.

You can also bring your own phone to Mint Mobile. While that makes you ineligible for the 6-for-6 Deal, it is an option for customers who can’t afford a new phone right now.
