AT&T has launched a new nationwide unlimited phone plan exclusively for customers aged 55 and older. AT&T 55+ is a discounted mobile plan for seniors, offering unlimited talk, text, and data for $40 per month.
Seniors can save even more by signing up for two lines, lowering the monthly price to $35/month per line. AT&T is also waiving the one-time $50 activation fee for seniors aged 55 and older by offering monthly bill credits.
Although AT&T 55+ doesn't offer many premium features, it includes perks such as:
- 10GB of hotspot data per line
- Unlimited data in the United States, Canada, and Mexico
- AT&T’s ActiveArmor spam call blocker
- 5G access (as long as you have a compatible phone)
AT&T 55+ replaces AT&T's previous senior plan, which was previously available only in Florida and cost $62 per month. At $20 per month cheaper, this upgraded senior plan offers all the essentials and unlimited data at an enticing price point.
Major carriers' 55+ phone plans compared
AT&T’s new plan offers a simple, low-cost option for seniors seeking reliable service without unnecessary extras. Compared to other best cell phone plans for seniors, AT&T's new unlimited senior plan is more affordable and makes staying connected easy for older customers.
Each of the Big Three major U.S. phone carriers (AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile) caters to older adults with different approaches. T-Mobile offers senior plans ranging from its basic $45/month Essentials 55+ option to premium bundles with streaming perks.
