NOW is a new option for prepaid internet and mobile phone service, powered by Xfinity. Starting at just $30/month for internet and $25/month per line for mobile, these are quality, low-cost plans for customers who don’t want a traditional internet or phone plan.
Available for both new and current Xfinity customers, these plans offer flexibility and simplicity with pay-as-you-go pricing. Both services can also be bundled for convenient billing and don’t require a credit check.
Let’s dive into the details of NOW and why this new service could be perfect for your needs.
NOW Internet: Simple prepaid internet starting at $30/month
NOW Internet offers two different speed options: 100Mbps and 200Mbps.
NOW Internet speed tiers
| NOW 100 | NOW 200 | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $30/month | $45/month |
| Max download speed | 100Mbps | 200Mbps |
| Max upload speed | 10Mbps | 10Mbps |
| Data | Unlimited | $Unlimited |
| Shop plan | View Plan | View Plan |
Both of the NOW Internet options offer speeds fast enough for streaming HD videos, gaming, or working from home. While they don’t include the ultra-fast download speeds you’ll find on Xfinity’s Superfast and unlimited plan, they’re still perfect for the average customer.
You’ll also get an XB3 Gateway included with your service, so there’s no need to buy your own router. You can just plug in and power up. Plus, with no annual contracts or credit checks, you have the flexibility to pause the service whenever you want and pick up again when you’re ready.
NOW Internet vs. Xfinity Internet

What’s the difference between NOW Internet and Xfinity Internet? It comes down to availability, pricing, and bundling.
Xfinity Internet is the brand’s premium internet service. These plans have higher speed tiers that offer a fast, reliable connection with less lag, so everyone can work, stream, and game all at the same time. It’s available to both current customers looking for an upgrade or new customers who’ve never connected to the Xfinity footprint before.
The service includes multiple plans with download speeds ranging from 150Mbps to over 1Gbps. The monthly pricing varies and you may even snag a time-limited promotional price. Of course, with those kinds of deals, you may have to sign up for a one to two-year internet contract.
Xfinity Internet can also be bundled with most of Xfinity’s other services such as:
- Xfinity Mobile
- Xfinity TV
- Xfinity Home
NOW Internet is a simpler version of Xfinity Internet, offering just what consumers want and nothing they don’t. There are two speed tiers—100Mbps and 200Mbps—making it a great option for those who want the reliability of the Xfinity network, but don’t need the premium features and benefits of Xfinity Internet.
There are no qualifications like credit checks for signing up for NOW Internet, nor are there any contracts required. It’s available to both new and current customers as long as their home or apartment has a pre-existing connection to the Xfinity footprint. This could mean that you’re a former Xfinity customer or your building was built with ready-to-connect capabilities.
The download speeds are slower than Xfinity Internet’s top options, but the plans offer simpler terms and more flexibility. NOW doesn’t offer promotional pricing, either—it’s one low price and generally cheaper than Xfinity Internet plans. There are no fees, no strings, and no drama.
Just note that as no-frills plans, you won’t get access to most of Xfinity’s perks and bundling options.
NOW TV
Xfinity also updated their TV and streaming service with NOW TV. This service is for customers with Xfinity Internet who prefer streaming over Xfinity’s traditional cable plans. Instead, customers can enjoy the shows, movies, and sports they love through the Xfinity Stream app and Peacock.
NOW TV includes:
- 40+ live channels and OnDemand
- 20 hours of Cloud DVR
- 3 concurrent screens
- Free live streaming channels
- Peacock Premium included at no extra cost (a $5.99 monthly value)
Just remember, NOW TV is a perk available with Xfinity Internet plans only. It’s not available to NOW Internet customers at this time.
NOW Mobile: Great connections with unlimited 5G starting at $25/line
NOW Mobile is a new no-frills unlimited wireless plan from Xfinity, offering mobile essentials for one simple price. No surprises. No hidden fees. It’s available to all current Xfinity broadband subscribers, whether they subscribe to an Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet plan.
NOW Mobile costs $25/month per line and includes 20GB of high-speed data on the most reliable 5G network. For an extra $5/month, you can add an unlimited mobile hotspot at 3G speeds. For most average customers, 20GB of data is plenty to meet their needs, and while mobile hotspot capability doesn’t come standard, it is nice to have the option as an add-on. Plus, NOW Mobile customers have access to over 20 million Xfinity Wi-Fi hotpots to stay connected when they’re on the move.
You can get NOW Mobile as a family plan with up to 5 lines, each costing just $25/month. There are also no annual contracts or credit checks, and customers can bring their own devices or choose a new one. (Just note that NOW Mobile customers purchasing a new device must pay in full—there are no device financing options.)
