How to Block a Number on Android: FAQs
The most straightforward methods of blocking a number involve restricting calls using your device's operating system settings. However, third-party apps and carrier number blocking solutions also work well.
When a blocked number attempts to make contact, you won’t receive calls or text messages from that line. Instead, calls are disconnected or redirected to voicemail while messages go to your spam folder.
When you block someone's number and they call your phone, they'll hear ringing (which you won't hear), then their call goes to voicemail. Sometimes, there's just one ring or even silence before being diverted to voicemail.
No! Someone can't tell if you blocked their number since they can still call and text. They'll merely think you're taking a while to return their messages or calls.
