All information on this page is accurate as of July 16, 2025.

Hello Mobile Cell Phone Plans
There are plenty of choices for Hello Mobile plans at several price points. Limited data plans offer up to 5G speeds and start at just $5/month for 500MB and range up to $20/month for a 5GB option. All plans include unlimited talk and text with unrestricted international calling to eligible countries worldwide.
Its unlimited plans begin at $25/month for unlimited calling, messaging, and data and max out at $40/month. The benefit of the top unlimited plan is the included mobile hotspot (a $15/month value). Although they are technically unlimited with no overage charges, Hello Mobile plans impose a 15GB monthly deprioritization threshold. After hitting this threshold, you’ll experience slower mobile internet speeds.
What we like: Affordable prices
With plans as low as $10/month for 500MB of data, Hello Mobile is a great choice for budget-conscious buyers. Family plan multi-line discounts further plummet pricing. Whether you’re signing up solo or going in on a bundle with friends or family, Hello Mobile saves you a pretty penny.
What we like: Free second month
Hello Mobile hooks up customers with a free second month of service. Simply switch to Hello Mobile and pay for your first month to enjoy your second month at absolutely no cost. You’re getting a buy one, get one (BOGO) deal which is tough to beat considering the already affordable monthly bills.
What we like: Competitive multi-line savings
While single-line prices already slide in lower than its rivals, Hello Mobile further drops costs for additional plan subscribers. The more lines you add, the more you’ll save, with the greatest cost-cutting at five lines. Multi-line discounts make Hello Mobile a solid choice for families, friends, or even roommates.
What we like: Outstanding 5G network
Since Hello Mobile piggybacks off of T-Mobile's towers, you'll enjoy best-in-class 5G coverage. The Un-carrier and its MVNOs like Hello Mobile benefit from having the largest 5G footprint in the country. T-Mobile 5G spans a whopping 53% of the U.S., with its next-closest rival—AT&T—settling at 29%. If you need blazing-fast mobile internet speeds without breaking the bank, Hello Mobile is a compelling carrier choice.
What could be improved: Lack of perks
Unlike most major carriers, Hello Mobile doesn’t offer many, or really any, perks. All plans include unlimited international calling to select global countries; however, don’t expect any streaming service subscriptions, cloud data storage, or other benefits. Even mobile hotspot data costs extra on all but the top-shelf $40/month unlimited package. But the upside to Hello Mobile’s barren perk offering is its jaw-droppingly low monthly prices.
What could be improved: Data deprioritization
Although Hello Mobile unlimited plans give you a buffet of minutes, messages, and data with no overage charges, there's a limited deprioritization threshold. After consuming 15GB of monthly mobile data, you'll experience throttled network speeds. A 15GB high-speed data allowance dips below what most competing carriers provide.
For basic use like checking your email, doom-scrolling on Twitter, and modest music streaming, 15GB suffices. Regular video streaming and online gaming off Wi-Fi might bump you over that cap.

What we don’t like: Middling 4G LTE network
Spanning just 63% of the nation, T-Mobile—and thus Hello Mobile—sits behind Verizon (71%) and AT&T (68%). Whereas its 5G coverage trounces AT&T and Verizon, Hello Mobile's 4G LTE footprint falls short, particularly in more rural areas. Although that's no fault of Hello Mobile, it's worth noting since city and suburban signal strength remains stronger than its spotty cell service in the sticks.
Hello Mobile Coverage
Powered by T-Mobile's network, Hello Mobile runs the nation's best 5G network. But while its 5G connectivity leads the pack by a fair margin, the Un-carrier (and Hello Mobile) lags behind its competitors with 4G LTE coverage. Notably, rural 4G performance is hit or miss. But at just 8% behind Verizon and 5% less than AT&T, Hello Mobile's coverage isn't poor—simply not as strong in certain places.
Hello Mobile vs. Competitors
After assessing Hello Mobile’s benefits and aspects that could use improvement, let’s see how it compares to big-carrier and small-carrier rivals.
Hello Mobile vs. T-Mobile
Unlike its parent carrier, T-Mobile, Hello Mobile falls short with data deprioritization and perks. However, its excellent pricing compensates for a lackluster high-speed data threshold. It's unfair to compare a parent carrier and its MVNO spawn since providers like Hello Mobile make concessions—including limited full-speed data allowances—to keep costs low. For a fully-loaded plan with streaming subscriptions, fast data, and ample mobile hotspot, go with T-Mobile. Otherwise, keep money in your wallet with Hello Mobile.
Hello Mobile vs. other MVNOs
After seeing how Hello Mobile stacks up with T-Mobile, let's see how it compares to other smaller carriers (MVNOs).
Hello Mobile vs. small carrier rivals

Hello Mobile vs. Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile is one of the most popular T-Mobile MVNOs because its cost-effective plans are an incredible value. Notably, Mint's $30/month unlimited data plan is a terrific solution for your streaming, gaming, and social media posting needs. And the addition of a Mint Mobile Modern Family plan further amplifies your savings.
However, Mint requires a 12-month prepayment for its best single-line pricing after an initial three-month introductory period. So for an unlimited plan, you're paying $360 in a lump sum, which breaks down to $30/month. But, new customers can get this plan for $15/month ($180/year) when they sign up for a 12-month plan. By comparison, Hello Mobile is prepaid but sends you a monthly bill. And its unlimited plan is $5 cheaper than Mint's lowest pricing. Still, Mint's unlimited tier sports over double the data (50GB vs. 15GB). It's a close call, but we give Mint the edge.
Hello Mobile vs. Google Fi
Google Fi utilizes a combination of T-Mobile and US Cellular towers for its network. With Google Fi, you'll enjoy excellent 5G coverage with rural service bolstered by US Cellular. You’ll also get mobile hotspot data, high data deprioritization thresholds, and select international calling features. Furthermore, the top-shelf Unlimited Premium package bundles cloud storage with Google One.
Hello Mobile offers more options and cheaper plans—but the tradeoff is fewer perks, lower data deprioritization thresholds, and less mobile hotspot allowance. Despite its no-frills packages, we like Hello Mobile's budget-oriented model, which works perfectly for all but hardcore streaming fanatics and hardcore gamers.
Hello Mobile vs. Visible
Visible serves up reliable 4G LTE network coverage backed by Verizon's network, with two excellent unlimited plans on its docket. The $25/month base tier comes with all the talk, text, and data you want, plus unlimited hotspot at 3G speeds and calling to Mexico and Canada. Your data can be deprioritized at any time on the base plan, but on the upgraded Visible+ and Visible+ Pro plans at $35/month and $45/month, you get a unlimited premium data. That means your speeds won't be slowed unless, ever. You'll also get access to Verizon's top-tier ultra-wideband 5G network on the Visible+ and Visible+ Pro plan. Both of these plans are an incredible value compared to the parent carrier.
At $10-20/month less than Visible for an unlimited plan, Hello Mobile is the more wallet-friendly MVNO. But its aggressive deprioritization kicks in after 15GB on an unlimited plan, whereas Visible's deprioritization isn't as tough and mostly applies during peak network congestion on the base plan, and doesn't even apply to its premium plans.
Although it's a bit more expensive, we like Visible's rock-solid 4G LTE network and more generous unlimited data allowance. On the other hand, Hello Mobile's 5G footprint outstrips Visible's.
Hello Mobile Cell Phones
Do you need a new handset to accompany your new service? Hello Mobile sells a variety of Android cell phones from manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, and Nokia. Like its plan menu, Hello Mobile’s cell phone selection centers on budget offerings with mostly older devices. While you won't find cutting-edge flagships, you’ll save a bit of cash.
Bringing your own device to Hello Mobile
Like most carriers, Hello Mobile lets you bring your own phone (BYOP). You'll simply need an unlocked device compatible with T-Mobile's network and a Hello Mobile SIM card.
Recap: Is Hello Mobile Right for You?
