Do you have enough mobile data?
As you can imagine, uploading and downloading photos from your phone to cloud storage, like Amazon Photos, will use up a fair bit of mobile data, depending on how many photos and videos you have.
If you don't want to use up your monthly allowance of full-speed data, then make sure you're only uploading photos using WiFi (you can specify this in the Settings). Another option is to find a cell phone plan that includes more full-speed data, so you can back your photos up on-the-go, without needing to worry about finding a secure WiFi connection.

Other cloud storage options
If you're not convinced about Amazon Photos, whether it's because you don't have a Prime subscription or you just need more storage for videos, then there are other options. Apple has iCloud storage for those with an Apple ID, there's DropBox, Google Drive, and many other options.
Most cloud storage options come with a small amount of free storage with the option to buy extra storage, usually on a monthly or yearly plan.
