Verizon's fiber internet plans are more affordable than Cox's fiber and cable internet plans when you look at the speeds you get with their fastest plans. Installation and Other Fees

In terms of installation, Verizon and Cox both charge around $100 upfront for fiber internet installation, so they're tied here. Cox's cable internet plans only require an installation fee of $100 and you'll even get a self-installation option which is free (for eligible customers only). Verizon will waive the installation cost if you order online!

Data Allowance

Cox's internet plans (both fiber and cable) all come with around 1,000GB of data per month, which is generally more than enough for the regular household. Verizon doesn't specify the amount of data that is included in each of their plans so it's a bit difficult to compare this particular feature.

Verizon edges out Cox only slightly in this category for customer reviews, with both providers getting their fair share of negative reviews. This is quite common among internet providers, so it's not surprising that they both only get about 2 out of 5 stars here.

For both Verizon and Cox, the most common complaints seem to be around connectivity issues, whether it's dropped connections or slow internet, followed by unhelpful customer service representatives.
